Leave Management
1- Annual Leaves:
- Employees are entitled to 21 working days of annual leave.
- The employee is entitled to 30 days if he/she is insured for 10 years or older than 50 years.
- An employee working permanently in Somabay is entitled to an additional 7 days (Remote Location) per annum.
- The company allows a maximum of 15 days only to be carried over from year to year to be consumed before the following Year; hence, it is a shared responsibility between the employee and the line manager to set the proper annual vacation plan.
- This carryover (if any) should be consumed before the end of June of the following year.
- The extra 7 days (for remote locations) given to Somabay employees have expired by the end of each calendar year- No carryover is allowed.
- Submission to HR: Annual Leave Form(s) should be submitted prior to the leave being signed by the employee and approved by the line manager.
2- Sick Leaves:
- The 1st 5 sick leave calendar is paid at 100% of salary. (No deduction applied)
- Afterwards till 90 calendar days is paid at 75% of salary {Per each sick leave day}, and the 2nd 90 calendar days are paid at 85% from salary {Per each sick leave day}.
- After 180 calendar days, if the employee remains sick, the company will refer the employee to the government health insurance for assessing the employee ability to work.
- Submission to HR: The Employee should submit all medical reports during the month to HR by the 1st of the next month. Form should be approved from the authorized medical party before the leave date.
3- Compassionate Leaves:
- Employees who loses a 1st or 2nd degree relative (Parent, Grandparents Spouse, dependent, sisters, and brothers) is entitled for 5 paid calendar days as a compassionate leave not deducted from leave balance.
- Submission to HR: Employee should submit a copy from the death certificate.
4- Marriage Leaves:
- Employees who spend at least one year employed is entitled for a marriage leave up to 5 paid calendar days leave not deducted from leave balance.
- This benefit is not given more than once over the employment period.
- Submission to HR: Employee should submit a copy from the marriage certificate with line Manager approval.
5- Maternity Leaves:
- Female employee is entitled to a fully paid maternity leave of 90 calendar days if insured for at least 10 months.
- The employee can get this leave during the maternity period with maximum of 45 calendar days and extended till post-delivery in which the total paid leave days does not exceed 90 calendar days.
- This leave is not given more than 3 times over the employment period.
- During 24 months after delivery, the employee is entitled to 2 daily intervals of ½ hour each for nursing.
- Submission to HR: The employee must submit a medical report indicating the approximate date of delivery.
6- Paternity Leaves:
- We recognize the importance of family support during the birth of the child and aim to provide a supportive work environment for new fathers.
- The father employee is entitled to a paid paternity leave of 15 calendar days.
- This applies to all full-time employees who have completed at least 3 months of continuous service with the company before the expected or actual birth of the child.
- This leave is not given more than 3 times over the employment period.
- Submission to HR: The employee must submit a medical report indicating the approximate date of delivery.
7- Pilgrimage Leaves:
- Employees who have spent at least 5 years of service is entitled for pilgrimage leave up to one calendar month.
- This benefit is not given more than once over the employment period.
- The number of days is calculated from the entrance stamp at the airport to arrival stamp.
- Submission to HR: Employee must submit a request pre-approved from line manager to HR, attaching a copy of his/her proving documents i.e., Passport, visa…etc.
8- Military Service Leaves:
- Military service summons, after the initial service, for Male employees who are called for the purpose.
- Employees must submit evidence to HR for the period of the leave.
